Being a writer has always been a dream…
I always wanted to be a writer but that was not a career option when I was young, and it was only after my three children grew up that I pursued my ambition seriously. I began with short stories and had several published in The People’s Friend and Woman’s Weekly. I won writing competitions with sketches and short stories, and a few years ago co-wrote a play broadcast on Radio 4. I have won the Writers and Artists’ Yearbook short story completion and have written three novels, have nearly finished a fourth, and have also started work on a children’s book.
I enjoy witty, light-hearted books that are set in the countryside and full of interesting people, and I hope that my own novels match that description.
I live in rural Cumbria, am married to a retired GP, and have 3 grown-up children, and 3 grandchildren.
